The words ‘floral print purse’ may not conjur up images of classy 1950′s women drinking cocktails (more like 1950′s housewives drinking cups of tea), but when I saw this purse, I just had to blog about it.
To be honest, I’m not usually a ‘floral’ kind of gal, but every now and then I’ll spot an item with just the right colours and an intricate or eyecatching design, and I just know the item would be perfect as part of my vintage style accessories collection.
This purse is one of those items. This small vintage style clutch purse is made from white faux leather, but it’s the flower designs that make this a worthwhile buy.
The mix of colours (shades of pink, blue, green, yellow, red, orange, purple) in the floral design tells me to team the purse with bold flat colours, such as outfits in plain black, white or blue.
You could possibly pull this off with a patterned dress, but personally, when using accessories that are particularly eyecatching, I prefer to keep my outfits simple as it draws more attention to the accesory and gives a more ‘chic’ look.
I see this bag ‘popping’ with all black outfits such as a 50′s style plain black boat neck top and black pencil skirt.
Or perhaps, if you’re going for a softer look – paired with a white or soft pink retro cardigan, a light dress and flats.
